unit 4
the world of color unit 4, children learn about color. color names, color mixing, stains, fading, camouflage, and color patterns are just a few of the topics covered. in addition to listening to stories, children will increase their vocabulary and observe and explore color and patterns directly. they will continue to learn about letters and sounds, including rhyming words, and they will participate in music, mathematics, science, and art activities.

we'll talk about easter. how jesus died and went to heaven and is watching over us.
easter and st. patrick's day math, science, literacy and art activities
weekly schedule:
monday - computer
tuesday - library
wednesday - gym
thursday - gym
friday - music
*children should arrive at 7:30 am and go directly to the gym for the morning prayer service. arriving on time is crucial. it will help the children establish good school habits and it will promote a positive start to the day.
*Dismissal is at 2:20 in the schoolyard on the richmond st. side of the building. any student that has not been picked up within 15 minutes will be brought into the after school program and charged accordingly. children signed up for after school will be escorted to the appropriate classroom by one of the early childhood aides.
*All children should have a snack and lunch (if hot lunch is not ordered) beginning on monday, sept. 11th. please be sure to send 2 drinks, a snack and a lunch. snack only, if lunch is ordered. please remember that we are a nut free school.
*children should be sent to school in full uniform daily. the uniform consists of a navy blue sjp tee shirt, sweatshirt and sweatpants and velcro sneakers (boots and sandals are not allowed to be worn in school).
*each child should be sent to school with a 2 pocket folder. we will send all school work and notices home in this folder. also, this will be one way for us to communicate back and forth. please be sure to check it daily! all paper work (including lunch forms) should be returned to school in backpack to me. please label the folder with child's name.
*all children must have a change of clothes in a ziplock bag. the bag and the clothes should be labeled with child's name. this will be left in their backpack.
